Sustainability calls for improvements in public health and well-being, while environmental impacts from human activities are minimised, and resources and material are reused and utilised, to generate value with growing efficiency.
We believe that transition to such a Circular Economy Model wherein waste and pollution are designed out, products and materials are kept in use as long as well and natural systems are regenerated is necessary for sustainability. [Definition of Circular Economy Model from The Ellen Macarthur Foundation]
There is an enormous knowledge gap vis-à-vis solution designs that can facilitate the transition of extremely heterogeneous communities to a circular sustainable model across the world.
In response to present needs, SITE4Sustainability aims to identify and develop solution designs that can be readily implemented and monitored, with associated stakeholders for progressive transitions towards circular economy with greater social inclusion and lesser inequality.
